This is not a complete list of the SiteGrinder 3 features. This only lists the major features that are new in SiteGrinder 3 from SiteGrinder 2. Extremely important features are in bold.
Design Features
- multiple growing columns supported instead of just one growing area in SG2
- new footer support that can adjust to the lowest of multiple growing columns automatically
- explicit demarcation of page bounds on a page by page basis if needed
- new support for background colors, patterns, gradients and semi-opacity for the browser background, columns, footers and pages
- new text button and text menu states: visited and click state

- integrated Content Management System (CMS)
- in-browser editing of text, menus, links, external media, galleries and ecommerce
- PHP sites support remote editing, meaning you can make changes to your site from any computer on the internet
- e-commerce support
- blog support (with RSS feed and comments)
- create and name new folders to organize your site
- assign home page for top level of site or any subfolder
- create and name new pages after you build - copied from existing page designs
- any page can be used as a template from which to create new pages.
- all text on a page and text menus are automatically editable in the CMS. Graphics labeled with the -content hint are also editable in the CMS.
- integrated FTP upload and synchronization
- static HTML sites (non-CMS, like SG2) as well as new interactive PHP ones
WorkFlow Features
- pages are built independently of one another - much faster builds, build only what you need.
- SiteGrinder automatically labels pages as up to date, or in need of building.
- SiteGrinder correctly detects individual graphics as out-of-date or in need of building. Much faster builds, as "ok" graphics are skipped and re-used.
- two stages process: work on the page design first and its content second
- SiteGrinder's flexible templating system means you build fewer pages.
- SiteGrinder can be accessed as a plug-in from Photoshop and also as a stand-alone application.
Gallery Features
- gallery component plugins let users choose from a variety of gallery types and effects (Flash, javascript, many others) For example you can have CSS-based thumbnails controlling a flash picturebox
- lightbox-style support
- Subviews can be added for a given gallery entry, as in alternate views of the same item
- multiple pictureboxes and/or thumbsheets on a single page
- in-browser editing. Add folders of images, upload new images, re-order, edit metadata.
- advanced metadata, raw HTML or rich styled text
- ecommerce support to use galleries as a platform for product page galleries with shopping cart buttons.
- Right click protection
- Random image display
External Media Features
- external media plug-ins. Many new external media types supported and more plugins being written all the time.
- integration with Google Documents
- individual user editing through Google Docs.
- built in integration with many third party slideshow and gallery products. (Lightroom, ShowIt Web, Slideshow Pro, Zoomify, etc)
ECommerce Features
- modular. FoxyCart support now, others coming.
- integrate with galleries to build a full web store.
Form Features
- More control over styles
- More control over alignment
- Password fields with hidden text
- Suggestions/prompts can appear in empty fields
